ANNOUNCEMENTS
MUSIC MINISTRY: As we prepare for our upcoming combined worship services on July 12, Aug 30, and others later this fall, we are calling all musicians who would love to participate in leading worship.
We are especially looking for singers to join our chorale anthems. For the July 12 service, we will be singing “Open Our Eyes” by Will MacFarlene and Frederic West MacDonald. The current rehearsal schedule: Saturday, July 11 – morning run-through, Sunday, July 12 – 9:30am call time. If you are interested in singing or playing, especially anyone who plays guitar, mandolin, or percussion and may be interested in participating in the combined service, please reach out to Randy or see him after service!
TABLE CLOTH DINNER: The next table cloth dinner will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd at 6:30p. Location will be Two Tony’s at 8536 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. The signup sheet is in the Narthex.
“Dementia 101” WORKSHOP: Thursday, July 9th at 6pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2525 Apollo Ave. This workshop will discuss signs of dementia (what is normal aging and what are signs of dementia); offer tips and routines to prepare for dealing with dementia and self-care; offer examples of neuroplasticity exercises; and discuss what to prepare for financially for dementia care. The presenter is Carolyn Olson, a dementia advisor for Senior Care Authority Louisiana, with over 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry. As a dementia practitioner, she facilitates conversation that prepares us for dementia as we age. This workshop is part of a monthly series on “Aging Wisely, Responsibly, and Faithfully” that is sponsored by Be Well-Come Together, a new worshipping community in our presbytery that supports physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. No registration is required. The workshop is free and everyone is welcome. Contact: bewellcometogether@gmail.com with questions.
