Each Wednesday, we need volunteers to help serve food and help with the toiletries and clothing and clean up at First Presbyterian Church, 5401 S. Claiborne St., New Orleans. Please contact Sue Crawford to reserve your time to volunteer. We carpool from JCPC to POH at 7:45a on Wednesday morning, and Sue will buy you a Costco hotdog after serving!

PLAYSCHOOL: John Calvin’s Playschool Trunk or Treat will be October 23rd. They are asking for candy donations and will put a box marked for Halloween candy in the narthex. Please do not donate candy with nuts in it to protect children with allergies.

SHARED WORSHIP: Mark your calendars. John Calvin will be closed on Sunday, October 4th for a shared worship service at Chinese Presbyterian Church for World Communion Sunday. There will be a potluck afterwards. Please bring a dish to share. If you would like to participate in the service as a greeter, reader, offering collector, or communion server, please see Mary Antil.

TABLE CLOTH DINNER: mark your calendars! Our next table cloth dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30p at Copeland’s located on 1319 W Esplanade Ave, Kenner, LA 70065.

HARD ROCK COMPETITION: Music Director Randy Martono-Chai won Round 1 of Hard Rock Rising and is advancing to Round 4, the New Orleans Finals, on Wednesday, September 23, at Hard Rock Cafe New Orleans. Randy is grateful to everyone who came out to support him, and because in-person audience voting will once again help determine the winner, he hopes to see everyone back in the room for the finals.
