THE PEOPLE ARE GATHERED IN

PRELUDE

✝PROCESSIONAL HYMN [Blue#343][GTG#761] Called as Partners in Christ’s Service

1 Called as partners in Christ’s service,

called to ministries of grace, we respond with

deep commitment fresh new lines of faith to trace.

May we learn the art of sharing, side by side and friend with friend, equal partners in our caring to fulfill God’s chosen end.

2 Christ’s example, Christ’s inspiring, Christ’s clear call to work and worth, let us follow, never faltering,

reconciling folk on earth. Men and women, richer, poorer, all God’s people, young and old, blending human skills together gracious gifts from God unfold.

3 Thus new patterns  for Christ’s mission, in a small or global sense, help us bear each other’s burdens,

breaking down each wall or fence.

Words of comfort, words of vision, words of challenge, said with care, bring new power and strength for action,

make us colleagues, free and fair.

4 So God grant us for tomorrow ways to order human life that surround each person’s sorrow

with a calm that conquers strife.

Make us partners in our living, our compassion to increase, messengers of faith, thus giving

hope and confidence and peace.

ONE: Beloved, we are God’s children now;

MANY: when Christ is revealed, we will be like him.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Sovereign One,

through your only Son you overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life. Grant that we who celebrate our Lord’s resurrection, may, through the renewing power of your Spirit, arise from the death of sin to the life of righteousness; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord,

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and forever. Amen.

✝HYMN [Blue#][GTG#300] We Are One in the Spirit

we will work with each other; we will work side by side,

and we’ll guard human dignity and save human pride:Refrain

and all praise to Christ Jesus, God’s only Son,

and all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one:Refrain

REPENTANCE

CALL TO CONFESSION

SILENT CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful Lord,

We know that your throne is surrounded by the voices of many angels and that you are worshiped by the multitudes of the heavenly host, but we so often fail to join in their “amen.” We do not fall down and worship you as we know we should. We are distracted by our catch, by our high priests, by our mourning, and our doubts. Show yourself to us anew and give us the faith to cast our nets in other waters. Strengthen us to worship you alone as the one on the throne and the Lamb slaughtered for all.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

✝GLORIA PATRI [Blue#579[ [GTG581]

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen.

THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED

1st SCRIPTURE Psalm 30

I will extol you, O Lord , for you have drawn me up, and did not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord , you brought up my soul from Sheol, restored me to life from among those gone down to the Pit. Sing praises to the Lord , O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.” By your favor, O Lord, you had established me as a strong mountain; you hid your face; I was dismayed. To you, O Lord , I cried, and to the Lord I made supplication: “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness? Hear, O Lord , and be gracious to me! O Lord , be my helper!” You have turned my mourning into dancing; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my soul may praise you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

2nd  SCRIPTURE     Acts 9:1-20

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.” The men who were traveling with him stood speechless because they heard the voice but saw no one. Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; so they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. For three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank. Now there was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” He answered, “Here I am, Lord.” The Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul. At this moment he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints in Jerusalem; and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who invoke your name.” But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is an instrument whom I have chosen to bring my name before Gentiles and kings and before the people of Israel; I myself will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.” So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and his sight was restored. Then he got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength. For several days he was with the disciples in Damascus, and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”

PRELUDE

✝PROCESSIONAL HYMN [Blue#442][GTG#321] The Church’s One Foundation

1 The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord.

She is his new creation by water and the word.

From heaven he came and sought her

to be his holy bride.

With his own blood he bought her,

and for her life he died.

2 Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth,

her charter of salvation: one Lord, one faith, one birth.

One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,

and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

3 Though with a scornful wonder

this world sees her oppressed,

by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,

yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up: “How long?”

And soon the night of weeping

shall be the morn of song.

4 Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,

she waits the consummation of peace forevermore:

till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest,

and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.

5 Yet she on earth has union with God, the Three in One,

and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won:

O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we,

like them, the meek and lowly, may live eternally.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

ADORATION

CALL TO WORSHIP Revelation 1:8

ONE: Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega,

MANY: the Lord who was and is and is to come.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Eternal God,

the strength of those who believe  and the hope of those who doubt. We are called to tell the truth. Those who are perfectly loved need not fear their shadows. When we speak what we fear and what we hope, silence cannot trap us and lies cannot hold us. May we, who have not seen, have faith and receive the fullness of Christ’s blessing, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

✝HYMN [Blue#357][GTG#738] O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee

1 O Master, let me walk with thee in lowly paths of service free;

tell me thy secret; help me bear the strain of toil, the fret of care.

2 Help me the slow of heart to move by some clear, winning word of love; teach me the wayward feet to stay,

and guide them in the homeward way.

3 Teach me thy patience, still with thee in closer, dearer company, in work that keeps faith sweet and strong,

in trust that triumphs over wrong.

4 In hope that sends a shining ray far down the future’s broadening way; in peace that only thou canst give,

with thee, O Master, let me live.

REPENTANCE

CALL TO CONFESSION

SILENT CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Almighty God,

in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the power of sin and death. We confess that we remain captive to doubt and fear, bound by the ways that lead to death. We overlook the poor and the hungry, and pass by those who mourn; we are deaf to the cries of the oppressed, and indifferent to calls for peace; we despise the weak, and abuse the earth you made. Forgive us, God of mercy. Help us to trust your power to change our lives and make us new, that we may know the joy of life abundant given in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning,

THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED

1st SCRIPTURE Psalm  118:14-29

The Lord is my strength and my might; he has become my salvation. There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly; the right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord does valiantly.” I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord . The Lord has punished me severely, but he did not give me over to death. Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord . This is the gate of the Lord ; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord ‘s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we beseech you, O Lord ! O Lord , we beseech you, give us success! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord . We bless you from the house of the Lord . The Lord is God, and he has given us light. Bind the festal procession with branches, up to the horns of the altar. You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God, I will extol you. O give thanks to the Lord , for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

2nd  SCRIPTURE     John 20:19-31

When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” But Thomas (who was called the Twin ), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe.” A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.” Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name.

✝HYMN (Blue #105, GTG#249)  Because You Live O Christ

THANKSGIVING FOR BAPTISM

The Lord be with you.  And also with you.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

O Lord our God, we give you thanks

For the new life you raise up in us

Through the mystery of our baptism –

The sorrow of the heavy cross,

The surprise of the empty tomb,

The love that death could not destroy.

By the power of your Holy Spirit,

Poured out upon us in baptism,

Fill us with the joy of resurrection,

So that we may be a living sign

Of your new heaven and new earth;

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

In penitence and faith, let us confess our sins in the silence of our hearts.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Hear the good news!

The grace bestowed on you in baptism

is sufficient because it is God’s grace. By God’s grace we are saved, and enabled to grow in the faith and to commit our lives in ways which please God.

an offering and a responsibility.

It is marked by change, growth, and deepened commitment. It is lived out of a renewing sense of God’s calling to us, and of God’s claim upon us made in our baptism.

Let us remember our baptism and rejoice.

Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation.

The old life has gone; a new life has begun.  Alleluia!  Amen.

ANTHEM  Ring the Easter Bells  arr.  Joseph Martin

THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED

1st SCRIPTURE Luke 24:1-12

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.” Then they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles. But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened.

2ND SCRIPTURE 1 Corinthians 15:50-57

What I am saying, brothers and sisters, is this: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised

imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When this perishable body puts on imperishability, and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will be fulfilled: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

SERMON  “Lighting the New Fire”  Rev. Martha Robson

RESPONSE

✝AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Good News, See 1 Cor. 15:1-6; Mark 16:9(16:1-9); Matt. 16:16; Rev. 22:13; John 20:28

This is the good news which we have received,

in which we stand,

and by which we are saved,

if we hold it fast:

that Christ died for our sins

according to the scriptures,

that he was buried,

that he was raised on the third day,

and that he appeared

first to the women,

then to Peter, and to the Twelve,

and then to many faithful witnesses.

We believe that Jesus is the Christ,

the Son of the living God.

Jesus Christ is the first and the last,

the beginning and the end;

he is our Lord and our God. Amen.

All glory and blessing are yours, Saving God, for in your mercy you gave your only Son, Jesus Christ. Born a child like us, he grew up to be your servant. Jesus taught your truth. He welcomed, healed, forgave, and loved people. In the end, he suffered and died to save us from our sin. And God raised him up, to give us a new life. We praise you that before he died, our Savior gave us this holy meal to eat together until he comes again.

Children: Why do we eat bread at this table?

Presider: On the night before he died, Jesus took bread. After giving thanks, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.

Children: Why do we drink from the cup at this table?

Presider: The same night, Jesus took the cup, saying: This cup is the new covenant sealed in my blood, shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in remembrance of me.

Children: What do we remember at this table?

Presider: We remember God’s gracious love for us, Christ’s death and resurrection for us, and the Spirit’s tender care for us. And remembering, we offer ourselves and our gifts for the world. According to our Lord’s commandment:

Congregation:

We remember his death, we proclaim his resurrection, we await his coming in glory.

Children: What do we ask at this table?

Presider: Merciful God, pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts of bread and wine, that in eating and drinking together we may be made one with Christ and with one another. At this table we ask for unity in Christ our Lord, and we ask for strength to serve the world in his name until the day you make all things new.

Congregation: Through Christ, all glory and honor are yours, almighty God, with the Holy Spirit in the holy church, now and forever. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen.

Breaking the Bread, Sharing the Cup

Because there is one loaf,

we, many as we are, are one body;

for it is one loaf of which we all partake.

When we break the bread,

is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?

When we give thanks over the cup,

is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ?

The gifts of God for the people of God.

The Elders serve the People, the Pastor serves the Elders, an Elder serves the Pastor.  Please hold the bread and cup as you receive them so that we may eat and drink together.

✝PARTING PRAYER

Gracious God, you have made us one with all your people in heaven and on earth. We have remembered your mighty acts in holy history. We have seen your power in sending light to conquer darkness, water to give us life, and the bread of heaven to nourish us in love. Send us out now with the good news of salvation

and a message of joy for all the world, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

✝HYMN [GTG#248]  Christ is Risen!  Shout Hosanna!

1 Christ is risen! Shout Hosanna! Celebrate this day of days!

Christ is risen! Hush in wonder: all creation is amazed.

In the desert all-surrounding,

see, a spreading tree has grown.

Healing leaves of grace abounding

bring a taste of love unknown.

2 Christ is risen! Raise your spirits

from the caverns of despair.

Walk with gladness in the morning.

See what love can do and dare.

Drink the wine of resurrection, not a servant, but a friend.

Jesus is our strong companion. Joy and peace shall never end.

3 Christ is risen! Earth and heaven

nevermore shall be the same.

Break the bread of new creation

where the world is still in pain.

Tell its grim, demonic chorus: “Christ is risen! Get you gone!”

God the First and Last is with us. Sing Hosanna everyone!

✝BENEDICTION – from the back

Christ is risen!  Do not be afraid.

Go, and tell this good news to all.

Alleluia!  Amen.

✝Benediction Response #295 Go to the World  1st verse

Go to the world! Go into all the earth.

Go preach the cross where Christ renews life’s worth,

baptizing as the sign of our rebirth.

Alleluia. Alleluia.

ADORATION

CALL TO WORSHIP Zech. 9:9

ONE: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!

MANY: Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!

ONE: Lo, your king comes to you;

MANY: triumphant and victorious is he,

ONE: humble and riding on a donkey,

MANY: on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

We praise you, O God,

for your redemption of the world through Jesus Christ.

Today he entered the holy city of Jerusalem in triumph and was proclaimed Messiah and king by those who spread garments and branches along his way. Let these branches be signs of his victory, and grant that we who carry them

may follow him in the way of the cross, that, dying and rising with him, we may enter into your kingdom; through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

✝HYMN [Blue#][GTG#649] Amazing Grace

1 Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind,

but now I see.

2 ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. How precious did that  grace appear

the hour I first believed!

3 Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come. ‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,

and grace will lead me home.

4 The Lord has promised good to me; his word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be

as long as life endures.

5 When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days  to sing God’s praise

than when we’d first begun.

REPENTANCE

CALL TO CONFESSION

SILENT CONFESSION

Litany of Confession

Almighty God: you alone are good and holy.

Purify our lives and make us brave disciples.

We do not ask you to keep us safe,

but to keep us loyal,

so we may serve Jesus Christ,

who, tempted in every way as we are,

was faithful to you. Amen.

From lack of reverence for truth and beauty;

from a calculating or sentimental mind;

from going along with mean and ugly things;

O God, deliver us.

From cowardice that dares not face truth;

laziness content with half-truth;

or arrogance that thinks we know it all;

O God, deliver us.

From artificial life and worship;

from all that is hollow or insincere;

O God, deliver us.

From trite ideals and cheap pleasures;

from mistaking hard vulgarity for humor;

O God, deliver us.

From being dull, pompous, or rude;

from putting down our neighbors;

O God, deliver us.

From cynicism about others;

from intolerance or cruel indifference;

O God, deliver us.

From being satisfied with things as they are,

in the church or in the world;

from failing to share your indignation about injustice;

O God, deliver us.

From selfishness, self-indulgence, or self-pity;

O God, deliver us.

From token concern for the poor,

for lonely or loveless people;

from confusing faith with good feeling,

or love with wanting to be loved;

O God, deliver us.

For everything in us that may hide your light;

O God, light of life, forgive us.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

✝GLORIA PATRI [Blue#579[ [GTG581]

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning,

THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED

1st SCRIPTURE Ezekiel 36:22-28

Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I display my holiness before their eyes. I will take you from the nations, and gather you from all the countries, and bring you into your own land.

I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances. Then you shall live in the land that I gave to your ancestors; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

2nd  SCRIPTURE     Luke 19:28-40

After he had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he had come near Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples, saying, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it.’” So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They said, “The Lord needs it.” Then they brought it to Jesus; and after throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. As he rode along, people kept spreading their cloaks on the road. As he was now approaching the path down from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the deeds of power that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, order your disciples to stop.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would shout out.”

We believe there is no condemnation

for those who are in Christ Jesus;

for we know that all things work together for good

for those who love God,

who are called according to God’s purpose.

We are convinced that neither death, nor life,

nor angels, nor rulers,

nor things present, nor things to come,

nor powers, nor height, nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation,

will be able to separate us from the love of God

in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED

1st SCRIPTURE Psalm 126

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

The Lord has done great things for us, and we rejoiced.

Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb.

May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy.

Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves.

2nd  SCRIPTURE             John 12:1-8

Six days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany, the home of Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. There they gave a dinner for him. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at the table with him. Mary took a pound of costly perfume made of pure nard, anointed Jesus’ feet, and wiped them with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor?” (He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he kept the common purse and used to steal what was put into it.) Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She bought it so that she might keep it for the day of my burial. You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.”

✝AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle’s Creed

I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,  and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

There will be a “Nuts and Bolts” lecture at 1:30p, and the performance will start at 2:30p. Hope to see some familiar faces there!

PCUSA BOOK STUDY: PSL is starting The Inter-Church study of the book Generations by Jean Twenge. The next meeting will be Sunday, April 27th at 3p here at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.

INTERCHURCH MAUNDY THURSDAY/TENEBRAE SERVICE: John Calvin will be hosting a Maundy Thursday service with Tenebrae Lagniappe on April 17th at 6:30p. Please let Briana know if you would like a part in the service whether it is as a reader, light dimmer, or server of communion.
