PRELUDE
PROCESSIONAL HYMN [Blue#487][GTG#667] When Morning Gilds the Skies
1 When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries:
may Jesus Christ be praised! Alike at work and prayer
to Jesus I repair: may Jesus Christ be praised!
2 Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find:
may Jesus Christ be praised! Or fades my earthly bliss?
My comfort still is this: may Jesus Christ be praised!
3 Let earth’s wide circle round in joyful notes resound:
may Jesus Christ be praised! Let air and sea and sky
from depth to height reply: may Jesus Christ be praised!
4 Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine:
may Jesus Christ be praised! Be this the eternal song
through all the ages long: may Jesus Christ be praised!
WORDS OF WELCOME
ANNOUNCEMENTS
ADORATION
CALL TO WORSHIP Matthew 28:19
ONE: Jesus calls us to go and make disciples,
MANY: baptizing them in the triune name of God
PRAYER OF THE DAY
O Blessed Trinity,
in whom we know the maker of all things seen and unseen, the Savior of all both near and far: By your Spirit enable us to worship your divine majesty, so that with all the company of heaven we may magnify your glorious name, saying: Holy, holy, holy. Glory to you, O Lord most high. Amen.
HYMN [Blue#263][GTG#12] Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise
1 Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible hid from our eyes, most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.
2 Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might: thy justice, like mountains high soaring above;
thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
3 To all, life thou givest, to both great and small. In all life thou livest, the true life of all. We blossom and flourish like leaves on the tree,
then wither and perish; but naught changeth thee.
4 Thou reignest in glory; thou dwellest in light. Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight. All praise we would render; O help us to see ’tis only the splendor of light hideth thee!
REPENTANCE
CALL TO CONFESSION
SILENT CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, yours is a perfect relationship, one God in three persons, mutual and whole. We confess that our relationships are not that way. We have been too selfish; we have given too much; we have accepted too little.
We have failed to love in the manner of Jesus. We have let sin drive us away from one another and from you. We long for wholeness and peace, but our sin pulls us in other directions. Forgive us and restore us. Pull us to you. With mercy and grace, pull us to you. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
GLORIA PATRI [Blue#579[ [GTG581]
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen.
THE WORD READ AND PROCLAIMED
1st SCRIPTURE 2 Peter 1:1-11
2nd SCRIPTURE John 16:12-15
ONE: The Word of the Lord
MANY: Thanks be to God
RESPONSE
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle’s Creed
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
RECEIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS
OFFERTORY
DOXOLOGY [GTG#609]
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen
PRAYER OF DEDICATION
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
HYMN [Blue #542][GTG#675] All Praise to Thee, My God, This Night
1 All praise to thee, my God, this night, for all the blessings of the light! Keep me, O keep me safe from harm
within the shelter of thine arm!
2 Forgive me, Lord, through Christ, I pray, the wrong that I have done this day, that I, before I sleep, may be
at peace with neighbor, self, and thee.
3 O may my soul on thee repose, and with sweet sleep mine eyelids close. Refresh my strength, for thine own sake,
to serve thee well when I awake.
4 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
praise God, all creatures here below;
praise God above, ye heavenly host;
praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
PARTING PRAYER
Almighty and ever-living God,
you have given us grace, by our confession of faith, to acknowledge and worship your triune name in the majesty of your unity. Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your eternal glory, one God, now and forever. Amen.
CHARGE AND BENEDICTION
RESPONSE [Blue#322][GTG#288] Spirit of the Living God
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
