PRELUDE

✝PROCESSIONAL HYMN [Blue#][GTG#319] “Men of Faith, Rise Up and Sing”

1 Men of faith, rise up and sing of the great and glorious King.

You are strong when you feel weak; in your brokenness, complete.

Refrain:

Shout to the north and the south; sing to the east and the west.

Jesus is Savior to all, Lord of heaven and earth.

2 Rise up, women of the truth. Stand and sing to broken hearts

who can know the healing power of our awesome King of love. Refrain.

3 We’ve been through fire; we’ve been through rain;

we’ve been refined by the power of your name.

Bridge: We’ve fallen deeper in love with you. You’ve burned this truth

on our lips.  Refrain.

4 Rise up, church, with broken wings; fill this place with songs again

of our God who reigns on high; by God’s grace again we’ll fly. Refrain.

WORDS OF WELCOME

ANNOUNCEMENTS

ADORATION

CALL TO WORSHIP Hebrews 11:1

ONE:  Faith is the assurance of things hoped for,

MANY: the conviction of things not seen.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Grant us, O Lord,

the grace always to do and think what accords with your purpose; that we, who cannot exist without you, may be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

✝HYMN [Blue#][GTG#51] “To Abraham and Sarah (I Will Be Your God)”

1 To Abraham and Sarah the call of God was clear:

“Go forth and I will show you a country rich and fair.

You need not fear the journey, for I have pledged my word

that you shall be my people and I will be your God.”

2 From Abraham and Sarah arose a pilgrim race,

 dependent for their journey on God’s abundant grace;

And in their heart was written by God this saving word,

“That you shall be my people and I will be your God.”

3 We of this generation on whom God’s hand is laid

can journey to the future secure and unafraid,

Rejoicing in God’s goodness and trusting in this word,

“That you shall be my people and I will be your God”

 RESPONSE

✝AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle’s Creed

I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,  and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

RECEIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS

OFFERTORY

✝ DOXOLOGY [GTG#606]

PRAYER OF DEDICATION

THE SACRAMENT OF THE HOLY COMMUNION

THE GREAT PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

ONE: The Lord be with you.

MANY: And also with you.

ONE: Lift up your hearts.

MANY: We lift them to the Lord.

ONE: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

MANY: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

ONE: …Therefore with all creation we sing your praise:

MANY: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

ONE: … Great is the mystery of faith:

MANY: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  Amen

ONE: … The gifts of God for the people of God.

MANY: Thanks be to God.

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

✝HYMN[Blue#343] [GTG#761] “Called as Partners in Christ’s Service”

1 Called as partners in Christ’s service, called to ministries of grace, we respond with deep commitment

fresh new lines of faith to trace.

May we learn the art of sharing, side by side and friend with friend, equal partners in our caring to fulfill God’s chosen end.

2 Christ’s example, Christ’s inspiring,

Christ’s clear call to work and worth,

let us follow, never faltering, reconciling folk on earth.

Men and women, richer, poorer,

all God’s people, young and old,

blending human skills together gracious gifts from God unfold.

3 Thus new patterns for Christ’s mission, in a small or global sense, help us bear each other’s burdens,

breaking down each wall or fence.

Words of comfort, words of vision, words of challenge, said with care, bring new power and strength

for action, make us colleagues, free and fair.

4 So God grant us for tomorrow ways to order human life

 that surround each person’s sorrow

with a calm that conquers strife.

Make us partners in our living, our compassion to increase,

messengers of faith, thus giving hope and confidence and peace.

✝PARTING PRAYER

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor and further us with your continual help, that in all our works, begun, continued, and ended in you, we may glorify your holy name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

✝CHARGE AND BENEDICTION

✝RESPONSE [Blue#][GTG#350] “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning”

1 Keep your lamps trimmed and burning; keep your lamps trimmed and burning; keep your lamps trimmed and burning,

for the time is drawing nigh.

Refrain:

Sisters, don’t grow weary; brothers, don’t grow weary;

children, don’t grow weary, for the time is drawing nigh.
